As discussed in my previous article, the Lear (or Leer, whichever you prefer) Jet has been around for a long time. The result of this long production run is that there is an extensive product line and number of models dating all the way back to the 1950’s. This site will not undertake to explore all of the historic models of the Lear Jet. If you are interested in the historic type of information I would recommend visiting Wikipedia, as they have a fairly well developed page on this subject. Instead of focusing on the older models, we will explore the current product line and discuss what each of the jets has to offer. A follow-up article to this series will provide you with information on how to rent a jet either through standard jet rental practices or through the use of something called “fractional jet ownership”.
The Bombardier LearJet 40XR is currently one of Bombardier’s best jets. The statistics detailed on the Bombardier LearJet site indicate this jet is capable of flying from San Francisco to Dallas, or from Seattle to Kansas City non-stop. An additional item that makes this model attractive is its availability for fractional jet ownership. The 40XR comes fully equipped with leather seats, a private aft bathroom, and extra room for luggage, air and ground air conditioning, digital telephone with modem port, electrical outlets, warming oven, video monitor, VCR, DVD, CD and cassette stereo, and Airshow 400 Inflight Information System.
This plane will certainly provide a comfortable flight between you destinations. If you elect to participate in a fractional jet ownership program, or just go out and buy a Bombardier LearJet 40XR, please come back and let us know how you like it.
Happy Flying!
